Great Hike

Tinkham Peak is a great hike, especially if you are looking to entertain dogs! We took a couple of hounds... don't do that unless you have a lot of patience and a strong arm. This hike is FULL of wildlife and distractions. I love the hike for the diversity you get. There are rock slides, wildflowers, a couple creeks and meadows, great views of the surrounding peaks - especially Silver Peak - a beautiful lake and a great view at the destination - Tinkham Peak. The trail is fairly well beaten and the elevation gain is spread out throughout the hike, making it fairly easy and very enjoyable. All-around, a great day hike for anyone who enjoys the PNW and never a dull moment! This is my favorite hike down I-90 so far (with the exception of scrammbling all the way up Red Mt) though I have many to go before I've seen them all.
