Really great hike! I preferred the view from little Bandera over the very top but going to the top was still definitely worth it. I was there on a clear day and the views were absolutely perfect. I the hike was a bit challenging so I would recommend having some hiking experience under your belt. Definitely have a lot of …

This is a great advanced hike with a lot of variety. The view from Zion is nothing short of amazing, particularly on a nice clear day. The canyons are beautiful. Reviewed by GearNW.com.

It was a great hike, although bug infested it was still worth the it. My friend and I hiked in from just beyond the summit of the copper creek forestry road, much more scenic and simple hike for the less experience hikers. The trail begins with a nice smooth beautiful hike down to lake george where you have many options …

Lea lot of actionft parking lot @ 9am & two of us made it to the top @ 12:30pm. One guy there, and while we were there, 4 more showed up. Seven on a weekday in late September is a lot of activity. Smoky conditions due to Cascade Mts fires. Nice warm day up there. Trail in great condition. Climbing …

I headed up to Paradise from Seattle this morning and got to the Paradise parking lot in 3 hours. This mountain is really worth the drive. I went up the Skyline trail in the clockwise direction and saw lots of wildflowers and views that were spectacular. I took the upper Skyline trail to 7000 ft because of snow on the …

I love this hike! I usually climb mt Ellinor, but it's shut down due to the goats being aggressive. I was surprised at how strenuous mt rose is. It offers a good view at the top and kicks your butt! The only bad thing is the horse flies(bring a fly swatter!).

Took this hike in Sept. 2010. It was mid day when we began. I'm in my late 60's but live in the hilly part of NJ where I take my walks, so I felt I was in shape. I wondered why people were equipped with walking sticks, hiking boots, backpacks, wide brimmed hats, and large amounts of water. After all …

Just an update on my Cyrstal Lakes entry. Last time, we hoofed to the lakes and up to the park border. This time we took the turnoff up to Crystal Peak late September. Lots of trail work was done on the lower part of the trail. Most of the trail is out in the open, so bring sunscreen. There is …

Indian Henry's Hunting Ground · Milt · Oct 21, 2011

My sister and I took this trail in mid September. There seems to be several ways to get to Indian Henry's. We decided to do the double car route. Parked one car at the Kautz Creek trailhead and then drove the other car to the Wonderland trailhead just a little ways past Longmire. The plan was to get to Indian …

Took this trail in the middle of October. Weather reports made it seem that this might be the last day to hike around the higher elevations without piles of snow. I was going to do something at Sunrise, but they closed the road at White River. Time to use plan B - Summerland. I stopped the car at the first …

I have been to Rainier many times and to pass the time for something a little different we did the Reflection Lakes Trail. It was OK but in all my years at Rainier I have never seen so many mosquitos. A decent kike but take the bug spray.

Delicate Arch is a must if going to Arches National Park. It is a good hike for everyone in that is not that difficult. Just go early to avoid the crowds and the heat. Arches gets hot in summer.

I have done tthis hike twice and nothing beats the view in Zion. A good hike for those afraid of Angeles Landing. The drop of here is just as great in a couple of spots but at least it only on one side. The hike also ofers a variety. The top is great place to have lunch.

Did this hike a couple of weeks ago. Very nice meadows and a very different view of Rainier was nice than what I am use to at Paridise or Sunrise. Tryied to go all the way up to Pan Handle Gap but there was so much snow. Like to try it again when there is a year without so much …

Sorry, I forgot to mention below that I started out at 11:30, arrived at the upper lake at 2:00, left at 2:40, and arrived back at my car at 4:30. So that's 2.5 hrs up, and 1.8 down. I hike at a pretty fast pace when solo, so if I were in a goup or taking it easy, give this …

Great hike actually, not easy but anticipating some awesome veiws we kept on, only to throw in the towel and turn back just alittle past Eunice Lake due to bombardment of mosquitos. My husband and I hiked this trail, after we had our first child, back in 1989. It had only been three months, and I did half of it. Of course I was not in shape at that point, and was surprised I could do any of this fantastic trail. We are going to do it again. We have been up …

Finding the trailhead is a bit tough. No trail sign is posted at the side of the road like all the other trails in the park. To get there, pull into the Longmire parking lot. Did this hike on August 4, 2011. Hit a lot of snow on the flat, wooded portion just prior to the steep rise to the saddle, but managed to follow a group of young kids thru the snow and made it to the saddle. They seemed to know where they were going. View from the top was amazing! Adams, St. …

See, I set the rating to poor and the difficulty to strenuous so as to turn off more hikers to what is without question the very best hike in the park. There are 10000k of hikers who crowd this trail and parking and even if you get there real early you'll park about 3 miles from the TH and come …
