I love this hike. I time myself up and down. I try to push myself each time. Your heart rate will be throught the roof by the time you get to the first turn. It is a great challenge and just when you think you can't go further, you are at the top.

We did this hike in early January with our 2 dogs. Although it was POURING the entire time we were there, it was still an great hike. Our dogs loved it and the trail wasn't hard at all. We didn't make it out there until about noon so wasn't able to complete the entire thing, but would love to go …

great hike a little too hard though.just commenting on "tunnel only-Really Fun" yosemite's half dome is the easiest, but coolest hike ever and if you need training for that you are way out of shape some people consider these people overweight or obese.

This hike was extremely easy, but the views are amazing! I reccommend this hike for all ages from infants to the elderly. Once you get to the summit you can see three fingers, pilchuck, and glacier peak it is fantsatic. Also there is a lot of ice and snow but most people would do fine with just some light hikers or …

Snow filled but easy trek to the falls. Snowshoe falls is barley running and not worth it, though if you have the day (and the lungs) head to Mekwala lake a few miles past this fall. Reviews for lake on this site. Low rating just due to low water volume off falls this time of year, surrounding areas breathtaking

Hiked this today begining at 10am. 2 people at trailhead, didn't see anyone rest of day. Trail is a lot different in the winter from the summer, it seems to take an entirely different route. As of today that route is certainly longer and more expert rated, though not dangerous by any means. Summer time ive done this hike up …

As warm as January has been this year, there was still a considerable amount of snow up top thru the boulders. This was my first time on this trail. I thoroughly enjoyed everything but the snow. My yaktrax were not sufficient for this, I needed crampons. We did have some sun and lots of wind. I really wanna come back …

One caution....don't stop too soon. Well up the trail is a nice "regular" waterfall. When we hiked to Comet Dalls we saw someone stop, srhug their shoulders and start to go back. We had to tell them to go another 100 yds or so through a break in the trees to see the real deal. Wondered how many people make …

You should have no problem hitting your target heart rate... the first ten minutes of the hike is the only rest you will get until almost the top. After that its straight up for a good hour to two hours depending on the shape you're in. The hike is mostly brutal switchbacks through the woods for the first 3500 ft …

My wife and I made the journey up to Boulder River from Seattle on a Sunday afternoon in early January. I would first like to point out that French Creek Rd is more than 20 miles from the interstate... we were baffled at first after going 19.5 miles. Second, we recommend starting out earlier than we did. We didn't get …

Did this hike while on a camping trip at Cougar Rock. We couldn't have asked for a better weather - clear sunny skies, and temperature of about 75.

We started on the 'finish' end of this one. From the trailhead, we started out east through the valley before heading up to the glacier trails. Some wonderful scenery, including waterfalls …

I just climbed AL last Tuesday – horrible news that another woman died up there on Friday - prayers to her family. I really hope that they keep the trail open for adults. Adults are capable of knowing the risk (there are a number of warning signs on the trail) and their limitations. I must admit that I was dumbfounded …

This is the best lookout for a view. Eunice Lake below is incredible. If Rainier is clear, you can fit the lake, treed hills, and Rainier's peak all in one shot. When you first see the lookout tower up on the hill, you may be discouraged. It looks way the heck up there and out of reach but when you …

Shriner Peak · Chad · Nov 13, 2009

Of the four lookouts at Rainier, the hike to Shriner Peak was my favorite. Despite the fact that this is the only one you dont see the lookout until you are there (take an altimeter to measure your progress), the hike itself is fun going over one peak after another. You start out in thick treed forest and continue through …

Great foliage and weather for this early November hike. We set out at 9 am and had the place to ourselves. The start is a pretty steady incline out of the parking lot until you get to the lake. A great way to warm up before you get to the lake and cruise around. The rocks around the lake are …

My dogs and I hike this trail probably 20 times a year and the beauty always remains the same regardless of the time of year. The Fall colors were glorious along the rock slide area and around the lake this year and the mosquitoes were gone. The lake color was a turquoise blue with cliffs reaching up another 1000 feet …

Last hike of the season for me (Oct 10th). Did the Crystal Lake trail two weeks prior with clear skies and warm weather, but this time the cold fall temps kicked in big time. This was definitely the best Fall color hike I have done so far. The whol mountain sides were covered with shades of yellow and red. We started the hike on a cloudy day.
